Veiled - a project about body positivity

The idea behind the project

This project came about together with designer Marlen Sabetzeropens external website in a new tab. She approached me with an idea about body positivity: people would cover their bodies and reveal only the part they personally found most beautiful.

I was immediately drawn to that personal way of looking at the body.

What anonymity changed

I was struck by how much pressure disappeared once the face was hidden. Posing and facial expression became less important, creating a calm, open atmosphere in the studio.

The pictures are in black and white, with little distraction and a focus on shape, posture and the chosen body part. The light was intended to support this gentle exploration of the body.

What stayed with me

What pleased me most was how happy the participants were with their pictures. When people leave a session seeing themselves with more warmth and less shame, something valuable has happened.
