Practice Photography: Bringing Colours, Rooms and Portraits Together

Photographs that fit your practice

For this session at a psychotherapy practice, colour was particularly important to my client. The pictures needed to fit her website. We chose rooms with colours that worked with the site and coordinated the clothing as well.

That preparation is part of how I approach practice photography: we look at how you want to present yourself and what the pictures need to do on your website.

A small room can still work

One of the rooms was very small. A few adjustments made it useful for the shoot: moving a sofa away from the wall or placing it differently changes the background and the sense of depth in the picture.

To find the right angle, I sometimes end up tucked into a corner or pressed against a wall. It may look a little uncomfortable, but it helps me get the picture I want from the space available. You do not need spacious consulting rooms for good portraits.

Choosing the pictures your website needs

Portraits are usually at the centre of my practice sessions. Depending on your needs, we can add rooms, details or working situations. We discuss where you want to use the images beforehand: a wide website header needs different framing from a profile portrait.

We also fit the session around your practice. When possible, we photograph outside opening hours or in planned time slots. A shared shot list helps us keep track of the most important images.

If you are planning new practice photographs in Vienna, tell me about your rooms and website. You can see more examples in my business portfolio.
