How a White Wall Became a Photo Studio with Light

A new area of expertise needs its own images

Together with EFS Consultingopens external website in a new tab, we developed a series about virtual reality. The people in front of the camera were the specialists building this area of the business and working with clients. The photographs were later used in a print campaign and on roll-up banners at trade shows.

Starting with a white wall

We photographed directly in the office, fitting the session around the working day. The setup used a white wall and two flashes. By controlling the light, we created a dark background with a blue accent.

I enjoy this kind of challenge: an ordinary room can become something distinctive with the right idea. For this series, a separate studio was not needed.

Light and colour that fit the subject

The dark background draws attention to the people and the VR headset. The blue accent gives the series a technological feel. It helped us introduce the new area of expertise while showing the actual people behind it.

My article on office portraits with window light shows a different way of working in an office. If you have a subject in your business that needs its own visual approach, tell me about it.
